  • Do you have a show site?
In order to keep our prices down we have decided to stick with our decision not to run expensive show sites. Less overheads mean we can pass on the best prices to our customers. We have the Cobham model cabin here at our home in Ripley (GU23) which measures 5.2m x 3m. We use this as our office and show room so you are welcome to come and view. All we ask is that you give us a call to arrange a mutually convenient time so we can make sure we are here to show you around. Your appointment time will be just for you which means we will have time to talk to you properly and answer any questions you may have.
  • What preparation works do I need to do?
We can undertake as many or as few aspects of the job as you wish - complete autonomy. We can supply a cabin for you to build from a kit or we can build it for you from the base through to complete decorative and electrical options. We offer a free site visit to talk about your requirements and explain the services we provide.
  • I'm not sure which size cabin I need?
We offer a free, no obligation measure up appointment at your home so that we can see the space, discuss your needs and wants and offer advice. We can see what fits in the space and measure out how that will look in your garden. There is no pushy sales team and we will never try and upsell a cabin to you. We give you the options, you choose the size and we build it!
  • Who will I deal with?
Us! We run the business on a daily basis so any contact will always be directly with either Nic or Tash. You will likely meet several of our team along the way but you will always have our personal numbers we will always be on hand for any questions you may have.
  • Do I need planning permission?
In the majority of instances - no, and no building regulations either. All our cabins have ridge heights of 2.5m which is permissible under current guidelines and are not considered permanent structures. There are however other factors which can affect planning (siting, location, usage) and we ask that you have checked these before ordering. You can view all the relevant information on garden buildings here https://www.planningportal.co.uk/
  • How soon can I have one built?
Most of our cabins are in stock in the UK. They arrive in kit form and are craned from a Hi-Ab truck onto you driveway. The construction then takes our skilled builders 2-3 days to complete with minimal disruption to yourself and neighbours. A lick of paint and a visit from the electrician and you're ready to go! We book cabin builds on a first come first served basis and if we feel our lead time is getting too long we have additional building teams to help keep wait times down.
  • Which areas do you cover?
We started as Surrey Log Cabins so primarily build throughout Surrey as the name suggests. However, as time goes on we find ourselves venturing into the Home Counties so if you aren't on our patch you can still talk to us about your project and we will see if we can assist. We love a working holiday!
  • Can I purchase a cabin kit to build myself?
Absolutely. We can deliver any of our cabin kits nationwide and as most of our cabins are constantly in UK stock we can usually get a kit out to you within a 3 weeks of order. The cabins make a great project for a keen DIYer.
  • Does the cabin have to be treated?
Yes, your cabin will arrive untreated so will require a finishing treatment be it paint or stain to fully weatherproof the timbers. We can offer this service to our build customers or you can take on the painting yourself.
  • Do you do the electrics?
We don't quote for electrics ourselves but we work with some great local electricians who we can put you in touch with once a deposit has been lodged. There are so many variables on each project so they will carry out a full site survey and provide a quote for what you require. There is no pressure to use their services but they know their way around our cabins and have some great ideas so tend to fit out the majority of our builds.
